I bought a Microsoft keyboard and mouse set 19 years ago, which came with a three-year warranty. I also extended the warranty for an additional year. Just recently, as I entered the third year, I started experiencing various issues with the mouse, such as unresponsive clicks or single clicks registering as double clicks.
I contacted customer service, and they instructed me to send the entire set back for replacement or repair.
I still had the original packaging from when I received it. It was a long rectangular box, although it was sealed with quite a lot of tape when I sent it back.
According to the tracking information, it was delivered on Tuesday, June 8th. On that day, they left a message asking if I wanted to change the delivery address. However, since I didn't have notifications enabled for Taobao, I only saw the message on Thursday, the 10th. I then provided them with the address of a local store, but it seems like my request was ignored.
I inquired about the progress a few more times, and on Saturday, the 12th, they finally provided me with the tracking number. However, there was still no record of the shipment.
Today, on Monday the 14th, I received a phone call (the caller ID showed it was from Inner Mongolia, and it made me realize that roaming charges seem to have been abolished for many years now?). I confirmed that the delivery was at the residential area, so I rode my electric bike there to pick it up. They mentioned it was near Building 4, but when I arrived, I saw the delivery vehicle but no delivery person. I thought maybe they had already delivered it upstairs, so I waited. After a while, I noticed that the key was still in the vehicle, and the cargo compartment was open, with the door leaning against a holly tree. There was someone sitting inside the vehicle - -
The long keyboard was placed in a square box. The box looked a bit battered, even though it was originally shipped by SF Express. In this situation, it would have been advisable to open the box and check the condition. The keyboard itself seemed to be packaged fine. After tearing off the shipping label, I simply threw the box next to the trash bin.
